European Heritage Days'19 invite to get to know and entertain

The European Heritage Days which are held this year for the 26th time in Lithuania, together with professionals from various fields will open the doors to immovable cultural heritage which is often inaccessible to the general public. On 20 through 22 September, more than 300 free events for visitors of all ages will take place throughout Lithuania. The visitors are invited to rediscover their cities and towns, to travel around their native Lithuania, and to get into contact with the history and cultural heritage of its regions.
 
The topic of this year's European Heritage Days – “Cultural Heritage: get to know and entertain”. Various events will take place not only in big cities but also in smaller towns.
European Heritage Days'19 encourage to get to know heritage not only during tours and lectures, but also when actively spending time with family and friends. For this reason, this year the public is invited to take part in hiking in the most remote districts of Vilnius city and neighbourhoods, and in guided cycling tours around Lithuania.
  
The events of the European Heritage Days'19 are organized by the Department of Cultural Heritage under the Ministry of Culture, also by 54 municipalities of the country, directorates of the regional and national parks, libraries and museums, cultural, vocational training and tourism information centres, as well as galleries, gymnasiums, members of communities and elderships, etc.
